Family Day Care is a quality homebased childcare offered in the homes of carefully selected & registered careproviders


Co-ordination Unit of each Family Day Care Service:
 

Receives applications from parents who wish to place their children in family day care

Regular home visits by qualified early childhood professionals are made to educators

Arranges and facilitates training for educators



All family day care services in Victoria operate under the national entity the Australian Children's Education and Care Authority (ACECQA). ACECQA is a national entity overseeing important changes to early childhood education and care and school age care in Australia.
 
On 1 January 2012, the 'National Quality Framework for Early Childhood Education and Care' began. It was introduced across Australia to help children have the best possible start in life.
 
Family Day Care Services located throughout Victoria are funded by the Australian Government. Services are operated by Local Government, Community Organisations and the Private Sector.

The Australian Government, through the Minister for the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), funds the Professional Support Coordinator initiative as part of the Inclusion and Professional Support Program.
