Family Day Care is a very flexible, home-based childcare service.
A Coordination Unit managed by the sponsoring body, for example a Local Government body, supports and resources
the registered careproviders within the service.
Family Day Care services will offer any, or all, of the following types of care for children aged up to 12 years:
Full-time or part-time care |
Care for children with additional needs |
Overnight care |
Weekend care |
Before and After school care |
School holiday care |
Occasional care |
Emergency care |
Respite care |
Many Family Day Care services provide playgroups for the preschool aged children in care with their careproviders.
Careproviders will, where possible, be able to deliver and collect children from local kindergarten sessions, or
school. This enables family groups to stay together in the care environment.
